Midwest Music Therapy Services

Celebrating over 25 years!

Midwest Music Therapy Services was established in 2000 with a mission to provide quality music therapy services in the St. Louis and surrounding areas. We currently have over 25 board-certified music therapists on our team, working with a variety of populations. Including those with physical, developmental, and neurological needs, as well as those who have experienced trauma or need emotional support. We also work with individuals and agencies to support Eldercare, hospice, and palliative clients. Individual and group services take place in your home, care facility, school, or virtually! We would love to help you, your family member, or your facility!

Meet Maria Carron

Maria Carron is the founder and director of Midwest Music Therapy Services. She has been a music therapist for over 30 years, receiving her degree in music therapy from Maryville University. Maria worked for Health South Head Injury and The Judevine Center for Autism before starting Midwest Music Therapy Services. Maria was trained as a Neurological Music Therapist, and has co-treated, consulted, and collaborated with music therapists, teachers, and other health professionals throughout her professional career. She supervises a vibrant internship program, training the next generation of music therapists. Maria enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going for walks and runs in Forest Park, cooking and eating out at her favorite St. Louis restaurants, as well as playing music with her band. During the last several years, she has enjoyed leading early childhood music groups in her neighborhood, providing joy and community through music!

Funding Options

We work with families to find funding options for services when possible. We partner with agencies, such as The St. Louis Recreation Council, Lutheran Family Children’s Service Fund, Home State Health, and Music that Reclaims. Many of our families utilize funding through the Eastern Missouri Autism Projects when awarded Family Financial Assistance Program (FFAP) funds. Individuals may also receive music therapy services through their school district when services are needed and appropriate through their Individual Education Plan (IEP). We proudly partner with many school districts in the St. Louis and surrounding areas. We are happy to share more information regarding funding partners and qualifying for music therapy services in the special education setting.
