This song teaches individuals the basic turn taking that is involved in having a conversation.  It helps individuals learn how to both respond and initiate an opening conversation.  The song goes on to model a 4 part conversational exchange and beyond, encouraging individuals to think of a topic of conversation or question to ask the other person.  As the individuals learns how to have a conversation you can take away the melody.
